Newnham Riverbank Club

Yesterday was Grandmother’s Day and my Name Day. I didn’t celebrate or anything as hardly anyone over here understands what a Name's Day is. Also, I slept most of the day in order to be more or less awake at work. I finished my shift after 7am and everything was frozen. It looked lovely so decided to visit one of my favourite swimming spot – Newnham Riverbank Club.
For those who know me it should not come as a surprise. I do like wild swimming and quite frankly there is not much around here but river Cam. The problem is the entry to the river. It is terrible in most places. Well… getting in the water is ok but getting out… that’s a completely different story. You are ok if you’re familiar with climbing and if you don’t mind being cover with mud. I was struggling for a long time until I’ve heard of Riverbank Club in Newnham. Apparently it is quite old, I don’t know. Anyway it’s a lovely place. Lot’s of grass to relax in summer and wooden steps/ladder into the water. Great!!! No more mud and climbing!
I’ve been a member for over two years now and I love it. Don’t quite remember how much is the yearly fee, something around £20, which gives you unlimited access to the club grounds. They recently changed the gate and it looks quite posh.

Yeah, I spent hours over there. Swimming, reading, eating, sleeping on the grass (in summer of course), watching full moon on few occasions, dragging my boyfriend to watch full moon with me etc.
So yesterday seemed like a good day to get there and swim a little. Actually I wouldn’t call it swimming; it was more like a longer dip. It was freezing but refreshing somehow. And it looked absolutely amazing.

Ok, I'm going to bed now, another night shift to come. Lullaby seems appropriate right now ;)

Day 2

It wasn't too bad I guess....

As I'm working nights for the next 4 nights I decided to have a proper sleep today. This means I didn't really get out of bed until afternoon. However I had (in bed) a healthy breakfast of oats soaked with milk with fruits and nuts. When I eventually got up and couldn't procrastinate any more I thought I'll give this running app a go. The whole idea is called Fartlek and more or less requires running slow and fast alternately. Well... can't be that bad I thought. I went for a default mode for beginners. It took about 17 min to complete the first workout but after about ten I was doing: "hard jog", "run" or "sprint" at pretty much similar speed. Never mind... at least I was running, well... it was more like gentle jog. I managed to get slightly lost and it took me another 20 min to get back so overall it was ok. Of course I stopped for coffee halfway through. My second favourite coffee roasting place in Bury - Frank and Ernest. I was really lucky to get coffee as they were closing but the lovely barista said he won't deny anyone to have coffee. What a great spirit!!!!

When it comes to food I made lovely Brussels sprouts soup and even better arroz doce vaguely following the recipe I've learnt in Portugal.

Who said that healthy food needs to look awful???

Despite the look it was quite nice. I remember I hated Brussels sprouts when I was a child but I grew to really like them. And it's the first time I actually used them to make soup.

Ok, now I'm getting hungry again ;)

Not sure what song to "play" for you... let's go for an old, lovely one, shall we?

New Year... again...

Hi guys, long time not seen eh?

I really should change all my personal info over here as hardly anything is in date but I'll do it at some point in life.

Welcome... again!

Few weeks ago my boyfriend suggested I sign up for a 10k race. During the next 10 min my thoughts were fluctuating between: "Yeah, I can do it" through: "I need to sign up now or I will find an excuse for not doing it" to: "Jesus Christ!!!". But I did sign up and now it is the time to do something about it. Some training will definitely help as I can barely ran 5k but also loosing some weight would be beneficial. I'm not much of a person who counts every calorie, I'm a person who doesn't think at all about what she eats. I love food and can't help it!!! Unfortunately I made this awful realisation that my diet contains: caffeine (of course), carbs (mostly white bread) and sugar! YAY!!!

So this is to new year, new me thing... I really need to change something! I decided to share it with you lovely people as it might help me to stay motivated. We will see...
Of course I could post my progress on Facebook but it's more private over here and it's not obligatory to read it. Soooo....

DAY 1
After 14h shift I did a "healthy" shopping. Some fruits, veg, brown rice, natural yoghurt, nuts, oats etc. Also downloaded some running app on my phone.
Now... I'm finishing a bottle of wine and while munching on some nuts and chocolate. I don't want to have any temptation left :)

And I will be posting a song by the end of each entry because that's what I've always done and I like it. So... today "Chess" and lovely Kerry Ellis. Enjoy!

New Year!!!

Happy New Year folks!!!

It's this time of the year when everybody talks about the past year and makes plans for the new one…
So I’m sitting in my bed, drinking coffee, stuffing my face with chocolate, feeling generally happy…
I had a relatively good year, better than I thought it’s going to be even though I haven’t progress when it comes to my job, haven’t progress when it comes to my marital status, haven’t progress at all really… I haven’t done anything significant, anything that changes one’s life, anything overly important...
But then I’ve tried to be a good person in general, worked hard to pay bills, enjoyed myself when I could, swam in cold rivers and lakes, worked hard to get in shape, read books, watched films, got drunk, had sex, spent time with family and friends, met new people, lost contact with some old friends etc… I guess it’s a life. I don’t expect anything extraordinary to start happening from tomorrow. I’m working tomorrow and it’s going to be all the same. I don’t make plans anymore as I don’t keep them anyway and if something happens it happens. I can only hope it’s going to be good.

And this is what I wish you all: don’t make plans, don’t worry, don’t analyze to much, if something has to happen it will happen, and when it happens then you deal with it, live your life, enjoy it, do something new, do something old that you like, eat chocolate, do some workout, read a book, laugh, be happy and be a good person. And frankly… we can’t control much more than that.

'Auld Lang Syne' for you guys

Night time thoughts...

Sometimes I forget about this place somehow. I feel like I should apologize but after all it's my blog and I haven't signed any contract saying that I will be writing on regular basis... but even so I am sorry for keeping those who are still here waiting.

Again, I don’t want to start telling you what I have been up to since last time because I don’t really remember. Nothing major’s happened really.

On the 1st of December I decided to lose weight and do a little bit of a detox at the same time. I’ve found this really good one week detox program but God it was even hard to read through never mind attempting to do it. I was quite ok at the beginning but right now I’m sitting with honey vodka coffee and a box of plums in chocolate. Great!!! I will start again in the new year, too much nice food around Christmas time even if you are working. Yes, I will be working Xmas but there is nothing I can do about it.

My news of the day is probably organizing my next year trip to Lisbon. I had about 6 days annual leave still to take before the end of March and (as I was late doing so) I didn’t have much choices of when to take it. Anyway I have a week off in February and fancy going somewhere. Hmm... I always fancy going somewhere but never have time or money or both. But if you are on facebook then you would know by now that I’m a genius and managed to ‘organize’ a 4 day trip to Lisbon for about £60. I didn’t think of going there at first. I was just looking for cheap flights in general and Lisbon happened to be the cheapest one. Then I went on my favorite hostelworld website and then it was just dead easy. I must say I’ve never stayed anywhere for less than £7 a night including breakfast but I’m excited!!!

What else… I can only think about a limited amount of days back so please be patient with me…

I had an Insanity workout earlier today which was great as usual. It’s hard and it’s enjoyable. I actually see the difference in the way I look which makes me really happy. So if you want to try - come along, for details have a look here

I’m starting working nights tomorrow so trying to keep myself awake as long as I can although I might not be too successful as I had to get up at 5:30 this morning. Never mind I will survive somehow. Don’t really have much choice.

How are you guys??? I'd really like to how (roughly) who is still here so PLEASE leave me a comment even if it’s only a short message, even if it’s just your name. Thanks in advance.

I was also thinking about changing a ‘design’ of my blog. I must update few bits and bobs but I still like the bit about coffee and a coffee shop so probably leave it for good old times’ sake.

Ok folks I’m getting weary and want to post it before I’ll fall asleep (honey vodka coffee works magic if you can’t sleep). It’s a tradition now that I play you something at the end of each post so here… ‘One of these days’ by Gloria from my favorite episode of ‘Tru Calling’. Enjoy!

A little bit about everything...

I'm not doing overly good with my blog. Lack of time is my excuse ;).
I own you all an explanation about my facebook farewell. Well... I noticed I was spending to much time on it so decided to remove the app from my phone and use fb at home only. I do apologize if I confused anyone. I will try to write more often over here rather then on facebook and give people a choice of not reading my stuff if they don't want to. I hope that makes sense, a little at least.
So.... I've been working a lot and not much is going on. (This post is going to be so boring).
I had an interesting conversation with colleagues about differences between English men and for instance Polish ones. I've been dating a number of people and everything was pretty much straight forward with most of them except English blokes. Dating Brits is like having 2 relationships. One is in real world and the other is via txt/messengers/emails. In real world you go for a coffee and talk about weather and on line you almost have sex. I understand that it's easier to write things than say them but come on... it's confusing. Well... I don't get it anyway.
Ok, enough about this. I'm still single and I like my own company and if I find someone who I like to spend my time with more than spending it with myself, I might think of changing my status. I think it's a great definition of a good relationship. Someone I know described his marriage in very similar way and I found it so pure, simple and beautiful. But right now I don't understand opposite sex.
What else? Did anyone read "Life and fate" by Grossman. I borrowed it from the library after it being mentioned in "I am China" that I read now. I love reading a book which "talks" about other books. There is nothing better than doing a new TBR list while still reading.
Another news, I'm giving up coffee!!!! I need a detox so I'm exploring different herbal and green teas. So far so good except of headaches but it should not last long. I know this blog started as coffee blog but at the moment it's all over the places. I do apologize for that but I will just wait and see...
Ok, I am going to sleep now.
Almost forgot to "play" you some music. Hmmmm...... talking about relationships, there are 3 songs and each one make me think of a different man that was somehow important to me.
So now... one of these songs for you to enjoy. It was so many covers but I picked this version (It's cheesy but rather nice).
"At times I think we're drifters
still searching for a friend
a brother or a sister
but then the passion flares again..."

Good night x

Feels like an introduction...

Welcome in 2014...
God... it's been such a long time since my last post. I don't even know if anyone still reads it but a warm welcome to those who do. I also welcome those who are here for the first time. I started this blog about 2 years ago but I have been really inconsistent. It gets worse with time. Anyway it's a place where I moan and feel sorry for myself. Well... not very often but this can happen.
Anyway about the blog...
(I don't really know why I give so much introduction, but probably because I feel like I'm doing something new).
I try to keep it bilingual but (warning!!!) my English is not perfect and I do make mistakes. So... each post should be in English and Polish but it's not an exact translation. Ok, I have a feeling I wrote this already once here when I started writing in English as well as in Polish.
Wow.... I don't know where to start. Soooo many things has changed in my life since last year. Just to keep it nice and simple.
- I have moved house
- I have a new job (I did mention that last time)
- I fell in love
- I've been dumped
- I'm rubbish in keeping in touch
- I still do wild swimming
- I've been drinking last two weeks and don't think straight at the moment
Ok, a little bit more...
I still live in Bury St Edmunds but in a different place. It's a nice big room with a nice big bathroom. I can't even say much more as after living like a gipsy for so long I don't get emotionally attached to houses.
Job is great, I like it, like the people I work with, but it's a "normal" work-home, work-home, work-home, day off, day off type of work. It's great but.... you know exactly what's missing. Still, I'm not complaining, not yet....
Love life.... ok, now I'm going to complain!!! Hmmm... maybe not. I can only say that all my life (so far) I've been falling in love with wrong people. Ok, now it sounded like I have been really unhappy most of it. That's not true. First of all I've been single most of my life and I like it. I like spending time with myself, I'm happy on my own and I don't religiously search for Mr Right. So... although nothing has worked out so far and I'm slightly "mad as hell" at the moment I know it will pass and the good memories will stay, especially as I had a great time.
Swimming, although I still do it, hasn't been so great. I think it's because I just don't have time to visit different places so I tend to swim in the same river (river Cam). This is a "normal" life: on my day off I do laundry and clean and do shopping and God know what else. And  there is ALWAYS something to do. I miss those days when on my days off there was absolutely nothing I had to do. Sometimes I feel like that:

Of course I exaggerate a little hehe, but you know what I mean. For instance I need to go, need to be up at stupid o'clock in the morning. No Polish version today, only a song but a GREAT song!!! Enjoy!!!

From: "I love him but only on my own" to "If you need a friend or lover or a place that you can hide I will always be there... "

Where did it all start? I don’t really know. I remember listening to Whitney Houston’s “How will I know if he really loves me... “ and the idea of this post came up. Just to warn you all, I didn’t discover anything new and all those things you are about to read were probably written already, simply because people like to write about love.

When love is involved we can divide our relationships into lots of categories. There are some I want to write about (from a woman point of view, obviously). It's a bit like having a conversation with myself.

1.      You love him, he loves you
Perfect! It’s rather self explanatory and there is no point talking about it because you know that HE IS INTERESTED in you. God bless!

2.      You love him, he is happily in love with someone else.
Hmm.... a typical Eponine, Marius and Cosette triangle. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do unless you want to make an evil idiot of yourself. You need to let go because HE IS NOT INTERESTED in you.

3.      You love him, he is single or his relationships don't last more than a week.
This is a completely different story, but.... is it really? If you love him, you probably know him. If you know him, chances are he knows you and knows that you are single (you made sure he knows, didn’t you?) and (still) he is not asking you out. Why? Because HE IS NOT INTERESTED in you. So maybe you’d better let go. If a man really, really, really wants a woman he will make sure she knows that. On the other hand (I can hear you're saying) there is a possibility that he will come to his senses and realise that you are the only one. Hmmm... but how long do you know him? If it's more than a month he would probably knew this by now. Besides, you don’t want to be a second best.

4.      You love him, he does the “fade away”
Listen to this funny song about women “fading away” but men do it as well, so you will know the answer. HE IS NOT INTERESTED.

5.      You love him, he already knows why it’s not going to work.
“My job is too busy...”, “I live too far...”, “You deserve better than that...” blah, blah, blah. Where there is a will there is a way. Again, HE IS NOT INTERESTED.

6.      You love him, he would love you if you were....
Oh, dear! It’s clear that HE IS NOT INTERESTED in you. If he does not love you because you are not slimmer, prettier, smarter, richer etc then you should give him a blessing to get out of your live forever. My mum once said to me that if you hear: “I love you because....” or “I love you but.... “ then it’s not love, it’s a business transaction. You want to hear: “I love you. (period)”.

Ok, I’m a bit too outspoken, but that’s how I am (and you either love me or not). I know it’s hard but if a man is really interested in you then he won’t let you go. A man won’t give you hope if he doesn't want to be with you. And it’s a really good thing. So... you don’t need to ask yourself: “How will I know... ” simply because (when the time is right) you will know.

*******************************************************************

Nie wiem skąd wziął się pomysł tego, o czym będę pisać, ale chyba wpadłam na to słuchając piosenki Whitney Houston; "How will I know if he really loves me? ". No właśnie skąd? Tak gwoli ostrzeżenia, nie wymyśliłam niczego nowego. Wszystko, o czym napiszę, ktoś, kiedyś, gdzieś już napisał, bo ludzie pisali, piszą i będą pisać o miłości.

Jeśli chodzi o miłość, to podzielę związki na kilka kategorii. Oczywiście, to nie są wszystkie możliwości.

1.       Ty go kochasz, on cię kocha.
Super!

2.      Ty go kochasz, on jest zakochany w kimś innym.
Hmm… typowy trójkąt z Nędzników (Eponina, Mariusz i Kozeta).

Jeśli go kochasz, to go znasz. Jeśli go znasz, to prawdopodobnie i on cię zna i wie, że jesteś do wzięcia (pewnie dałaś mu to do zrozumienia, prawda?) mimo to, nie zaprasza cię na randkę. Dlaczego? Ponieważ, nie zależy mu na tobie. Jeśli mężczyźnie zależy, to nie pozwoli kobiecie uciec.

4.      Ty go kochasz, on cię ignoruje.
No cóż, chyba znasz odpowiedź: nie zależy mu na tobie.

5.      Ty go kochasz, on znajduje tysiące wymówek.

6.      Ty go kochasz, on kochałby cię gdybyś tylko….
My chcemy usłyszeć: „kocham cię. (kropka)”

Come back...

I bet most of you didn't believe that i’ll come back, but… there you go, life is full of surprises. Anyway I’m not going to write about everything that happened when I was gone. I’ll just start from where I’m now.
There’s going to be a change, I hope a welcome change for some. From now on I’m going to write in Polish and English. I have two followers (shame on the rest of you) and they are both non-polish speakers so it’s only right that I’ll write this blog in English too. It’s not going to be perfect but it’s a good practice and I always welcome all your comments about my English and about other stuff (of course). So... just to let you know it’s not going to be an exact translation but I’ll try to keep it as close as possible. But then... some things are easier to be said in English than Polish and vice versa. Anyway we will see how it goes.
Most of you (if not all) follow me on facebook. I must admit last few weeks I went crazy with posting pictures of myself. It makes me look so vain. That is one of the reason why I’m back to writing a blog. On facebook people read about me regardless if they want it or not, over here however there is a choice of not reading. I love to share with others what was happening in my life but I’m not stupid and I know that some might not be interested. This is fine and this is when the blog comes in very handy.
Last week I came back from my really short (5 days only) holidays. I drove over 700 miles, visited Yorkshire Dales, Peak District, Leeds, Leek, Settle, Worcester, Cheshunt and places which names I don’t remember. I was intensive but really, really nice. I needed a break, needed to get out of Bury St Edmunds (for those who don’t know, that’s where I live) and needed to recharge my batteries which I think I did. But I’m back to reality and started a new job last Monday. I will write about it later on as my mind is still somewhere up north and I’m still in a holiday mood. Soooo... just for you a holiday picture taken in Peak District in Mermaid Pool

 Do usłyszenia niedługo....

Zawsze używamy mleka zimnego i tłustego.

Zresztą byłam głodna więc i tak pewnie by mi smakowało.
No i na koniec.

A jeszcze bardziej poniżej zdjęcie sufitu kawiarenki, którą to odwiedziłam.

Uciekam i zostawiam Was z piosenką (w miarę optymistyczną).

I need a good cry and a hug czyli jest źle...

Witam w Nowym Roku!

Books of 2012 (and a New Year song)

Today is going to be in English, not in PERFECT English, but I’m going to do my best ;) My 2013 resolution (one of many) is making a good use of my English grammar and pronunciation books. They are really good, but unfortunately they don’t work just by sitting on the shelf. So, be patient with my English and feel free to correct me (you're so lucky you don’t need to listen to my “wood chopping” accentJ).

Anyway...

Simon of Stuck in a Book and his post inspired me to do my own list of my favourite books read in 2012. I was thinking about it for a long while and picked 5 (+ 3 extra) books that I really loved and which were somehow important.

So... let’s start...

5. After Dark – Haruki Murakami (translated by Jay Rubin)
Luke, who I’ve met in Pwll Deri told me about Murakami and Norwegian Wood, but I started with After Dark as this was the only Murakami’s book I could find in the library. And I loved it (I quite liked Norwegian Wood as well, when I eventually managed to read it).
Just in short, Mari misses the last train home and waits until morning in 24h diner but night life in Tokyo is never quiet and soon some strange things start happening.
Hmmm...  Close your eyes (ops... don't close your eye, carry on reading), relax and imagine. You are reading a book and suddenly there is a sentence (or two, or three) that you just have to read and re-read few times. You don’t know why but you just like that particular fragment. Ok, I know it sounds like OCD but it’s not only that, because you quite enjoy doing it. Reading it over and over again seems like a right thing to do. When you finally move on with a book, after few pages you go back to that sentence. Very often you can’t find it (somehow you didn't think it was important to mark it) and you pretty much end up reading the book from the beginning. Anyone knows what I’m talking about? Or should I sign up for a mental check up? (Well, I don’t think it’s entirely normal, but I've never said I’m normal J).
Anyway, this is THE fragment from After Dark (don't hold your breath):

She reaches out at regular intervals and brings the coffee cup to her mouth, but she doesn't appear to be enjoying the flavour. She drinks because she has a cup of coffee in front of her: that is her role as a customer.

Ok, just wondering who actually DIDN’T say WHAT???
Well... I honestly don’t know why on earth those two sentences has stuck in my head. It might be coffee J But there must be something deeper than just drinking coffee. I found myself doing it a lot when I read Murakami (I used to do it with Coetzee), reading the same fragment many times, enjoying it and trying to guess what’s hidden between the lines.
Anyway, Murakami's books have many overly descriptive sentences, which sometimes aren’t necessary, sometimes he repeats himself. But you either love it or hate it. 1Q84 divided the nation. Almost nothing is happening during the first 150 pages but I still loved it (surprisingly).
Ok, I supposed to say how enjoyable After Dark was but I have a feeling it's going the opposite direction. So I'll just shut up ;)

4. Guard Your Daughters - Diana Tutton
I’ve learnt about this book from Stuck in a Book and I loved it. You can find the review written by Simon over here. It has started a positive revolution in the blogosphere, GYD was the most talked about and most wanted book (its prize on Amazon is almost 10 times higher than before the review). I'm just going to say this: read the book, but first, read the wonderful and (in my opinion) the most powerful and important review of 2012. Thank you, Simon!

3. God in a cup: The Obsessive Quest for a Perfect Coffee - Michaele Weissman
A first non-fiction book on my list. Weissman writes about her journey to different coffee plantations all over the world, learning all about coffee, from planting to brewing, but also how to enjoy, appreciate and respect this heavenly beverage.
Most of you are probably not surprised that this book is here, well I’m not. This year I’ve read many books about coffee and although I loved them I would not recommend those to everybody. In order to enjoy some of the books you need to like coffee. But God in a Cup is different; I really believe that it can be enjoyed even by those who don’t drink coffee. I hope anyway J

2. The solitude of Prime Numbers - Paolo Giordano (translated by Shaun Whiteside)
As a mathematician I do like prime numbers but this book is not about the numbers. It’s about two lonely people whose past takes over their lives and their future. It’s a love story (in a way) but not the kind of love story that makes you sick. Alice and Mattia are like prime numbers (I always imagine them as 11 and 13) - very close to each other but there is always something between them (ah silly 12). It’s an interesting book and it’s a first novel of this young Italian author.

And now... The Book of the Year Award goes to.....

The Piano Shop on The Left Bank - Thad Carhard

Another book that I’ve learnt about reading Stuck in a Book (Simon's review over here).
Some of you are probably aware that I’m not a big fan of 100 (or other number) books you must read before you die lists. I don’t know why but they really annoy me, maybe because they are so industrial. Before even reading one you can guess at least 50% of its contents.
So, I was very surprised how much I actually liked Simon’s 50 books you must read but may not have heard about list which is very personal and very honest. When I saw The Piano Shop on the Left Bank I just knew I must read it although I didn't know anything about it. And I absolutely loved it. Well...playing piano was always a part of my life (and yes, there were times that I didn’t appreciate it, but I still remember my biggest achievement - Christmas songs concert that my sister and I have given some time ago. Ala, I hope you remember our moment of glory ;))
Ok, about the book. Carhard, while walking back home after dropping his children to school, discovers a piano shop. He walks inside and it all starts. He buys a piano, starts playing again after a long break and learns about the instrument from his mentor and a friend – the owner of the shop – Luc. It’s a lovely non-fiction book. Obviously it’s a book about pianos (history, different types and makes, tuning etc.) but also about different people and the important role the instrument played in their lives. It’s also about the unique friendship between Carhard and Luc. And about life, about passion, about music and about love... I’ve never read a book like this before. It’s just brilliant.
I would like to say: "I’m sure you will love it even if you don’t play piano" but I honestly don’t know. I’ve played piano for a long time so I can’t imagine how I would feel about this book if I hadn’t played. Well, give it a try and “be patient with yourself”.

Ok.... this is it. I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

I’m a little bit disappointed that there isn’t any Nobelists in the final 5 (not even 10). Well, there is always next year. I just want to mention (very quickly) few other books that would probably make it to the 6th, 7th and 8th place on the list if I’d carry on.

The Hut Six Story by Gordon Welchman
The Secret Life of Bletchley Park by Sinclair McKay
Alan Turing: The Enigma by Andrew Hodges

But I really think I should write a separate post about those (and about Rejewski J).

Now a little update on what was going on. Hmmm... nothing much, I'm afraid. Christmas is over. It was really sad this year but I survived and just want to say a big THANK YOU for all your support, especially a big thank you to my wonderful family. I’m taking a week off in the beginning of January, going to spend some time in Forest of Dean (in some village in the middle of nowhere) doing nothing. Well... I’m going to catch up with sleeping and then I think I will be able to think things over and make some constructive decisions. I'll give you a full report ;)

Hope you all have a good 2013 but instead of a greeting card I’m “sending” you a song, a well known and loved The Prayer of François Villon (by Bulat Okudzhava). For whatever reason I always think of a New Year when I listen to it.

As long, as the earth keeps turning,
As long, as the sun is above,
Almighty, please give to all of us
The things that we do not have:
Grant a mind to the wise man,
The coward, grant him a horse,
The happy, let him have money,
And don't forget truly yours.

Below, an original, Russian version sang by Regina Spector (English translation can be found in description)

And here - my favourite version of this wonderful prayer (by Adrianna Brzuzek)

Happy New Year !!!

Wróciliśmy z wakacji, no powiedzmy, ze spotkania rodzinnego.
I właśnie dlatego jak najbardziej kibicuję i wspomagam The Salvation Army.
No i oczywiście życzę Wam "tego samego" ;)
